I have a machine running Window 98SE. On booting it halts when it reaches Verifying DMI Pool Data. It will not boot in safe mode and when I try to boot form a windows 98 startup floppy it reads the disk fop a few seconds then halts. I have tried removing some of the cards but this does not help. Any sugestions?

yeah,

1.) in BIOS setup check for your RAM timing (CAS/RAS) and set it to 3 (or do in BIOS a system Default load)

2.) possibly your MEM stick is the culprit... replace with another one and test... had similiar probs a long while back...
