ARRG!!! Yea, I'm a l-o-n-g computer user. Times have changed. This p4 has worked for about 8 months, after I rebuilt it.

Two days ago, it kept the HDD light on for 5 min. After some time, I reboted--maybe 5-10 min. (sorry for the spelling--sharing with my 4 year old for the computer whild he is talking to me).

Anyway, point me to a link that gives me hardware troubleshooting. Moght be a good review for others too.

Remove memory, video card, test PS, with just a mother board (no ram, nothing), should you get any POST beeps???

Thanks,

Tom

Thanks for the reply. So you know, it was the mother board. Just powered it up. They think it moght be the power supply that is killing them--this is my 3rd. in about 9 months.

Computers don't just stop--unless they are shot....

3008n1,
You should get a short beep indicating all is well. if you hear more than one beep you got problems. Depending on your Mobo. You can look up Diagnostic codes on the Internet. Just go to google and type it in.
Good luck
