Computer Descriptive Name 1

How do you get a "Descriptive Name" for a Win2K Pro workstation to show up in the comments section of Network Neighborhood. In Win98, we just set this under Identification on the properties dialog displayed after right-clicking the desktop icon. I can't find this in 2K & don't know that I ever tried to in NT4.

You have to do from Computer Management on each computer(pain in the a**).Right click My Computer-Manage-then right click on the computer name-Properties-Network Identification.You'll see a box for the description..Happy typing.

Wow! That was 1 of the 3 places I didn't look, and since I don't like being beat by computers, I probably would have looked for another 4 hours. Thanks for the time saver.
