Hi,
I have a DLT8000 external Quantum drive that is supposed to fit 40/80GB of data. The hardware compression light is ON. I am trying to backup a 45GB folder. It doesn't fit on one tape and prompts for the 2nd one. The ArcServe log shows Compression ratio of 0.98.

Please advice.

Besides database problems this is probably the most popular question so only a brief answer will be provided since details are available in prior threads.

You can not compress data that has already been compressed.
