Compressed or not ?

Hi,

I am currently backing up 1.3Tb of data (so the end of my weekend backup tells me), and its using 10 LTO tapes (which 1s 100Gb native and 200Mb compressed). Am I missing something here?? - surely i should be using much less than 10 tapes.

Any ideas

Hardware compression, software compression, blah, blah :)
