Anyone know the limits of how many/what size files Vista's Compressed (Zipped) Folders can handle? If I select more than a dozen good sized files, it only puts 6 or 7 in, skips the rest and leaves a bunch of .tmp files in the folder with the same name as the .zip file.

I've tried this on multiple workstations and get the same results. I think it has more to do with the size, around 23 mb, because I've tried smaller files and it seems to work. Anyone else run into this?

I have only ever heard of a 4GB size limit, and that was in XP, probably carried over into Vista, but I'm not sure.

If you are doing a lot of zipping you would probably better off with a third party application such as WinZip?

Compressed Folder Becomes Corrupted When Larger than 4 Gigabytes

As you are seeing this on several machines, perhaps you should query it with Microsoft as a possible bug? I have to add that your question is not one I have seen raised in this forum, that I can remember, anyway, and lots of other people must be using compressed (zipped) folders.
