Hi,

Anyone else noticed? I have two drives on one server that should be backed up. Backup speed on C is over 100mb/min, but on compressed d speed drops under 5mb/min! (would take days to be ready..).

Anyone else noticed or is problem caused by some other reason? Main question that I would like to get an answer is that have you noticed that backing up compressed files would be slower?

Using: nt4 SP6, arcserve2000.

Hi,

Files on a compressed NTFS volume must be uncompressed before backup, thats why it takes longer.

Must admit that 5mb min is pretty slow even taking uncompression into account.
