Compress Problem

I understand how to compress a file by using Windows XP, however I need to write it to a batch file, which will be used as a scheduled task. Does anyone know how to convert the windows compress job steps to a DOS batch file ?

Compress is essentially the classic .zip compression. The compress feature of XP is an Explorer only add-in feature and not available for command line use.

So, add a third-party .zip utility and use that. XP can un-compress the folder.
