Hello, I am trying to build a mockup website for my company's redesign ideas. I would like there to be an always present navigations frame/header with buttons (home, books, multimedia, links, about us, etc...) and our logo. I want some of the subpages to have frames as well. example: i want the about us page to have multiple buttons on the left side and to appear in the right frame/side. But i do not want the home page to have subframes. I am quite stuck. Can someone please help me or tell me if this is not possible. Thanks.

I do not understand what "use server side includes.” means. Please elaborate! Thanks.

Maybe we could get some more info on what you're trying to do? Unfortunatly your description is a bit... Vague.

Are you trying to simply have one page with frames, and others without? In which case, all you'd need to do is make the page seperatly(whole new tab in Dreamweaver), instead of working on it in the frames page.

Sorry if I'm sounding somewhat backwards, I'm not quite sure how to make it sound and be simple.

Ok. Here is the detailed description of what I have done and what I am trying to do…. I have multiple framesets set up. The homepage is a frameset with a top frame being the logo and navigation buttons (Home, About us, shopping, products, etc..), the main frame is blank for content. Then there are the sub pages of actual content, some of which are framesets as well. The home sub page is just a single html. The “About Us” sub page is where I’m running into the problem. About us is a frameset as well which consists of a left navigation frame/page and a right frame/page for content (the content pages are all just plain html). When testing the site I can click on the “About us” button in the top navigation and the sub navigation on the left side shows up linked properly. But when I click the link (mission) the sub navigation goes away and only the “Mission” page shows up in the main frame of the home page.

You need to examine your links in all cases and ensure that wherever you link to a frameset that you are correctly loading each frame. Without examining all of your site it would be near impossible to find the problem
