Compiled Executable doesn't open -- Crystal 8.5

Hi,

I created a compiled report in Crystal Reports 8.5 on a Windows 2000 machine. I attempted running the report on two Windows 98 machines with Crystal 8.0 already installed.

On the first machine the print option screen opened and the report printed normally. On the second machine however the shortcut would not open the executable. When I attempted double-clicking the shortcut the hourglass appeared for a moment and then nothing.

As a fix I attempted reinstalling Crystal 8.0. When that didn't work I first uninstalled 8.0 before reinstalling 8.0 and the 8.5 upgrade. I still had the same issue. There are no errors and nothing opens up in the task list if you do the ctrl-alt-delete.

Has anyone seen this?

I have been responding to each post I see like this. I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND NOBODY SEEMS TO BE ABLE TO PROVIDE ANY SOLUTIONS. I even went so far as to have the clients machine upgraded to NT because I am compiling on NT. And the compiled report works on my machine but when I go to the client, it doesn't. Hopefully, someone can address this soon - the best solutions seem to come from Ken Hamady. He's ACE!!!
