Every time I open any MS Office application I am getting an error "Compile error in hiddden module: AutoExec". What is the problem. How do I get rid of this.

Thank You

Certainly a rogue addin - probably an old version of Acrobat.

Check out your installed Addins - remove them all, and replace one by one till you find the culprit.

Enjoy,
Tony

AutoExec is the name you give to a macro you want to run at the start of an office program. (at least some of them) Have you tried to find and delete the module?

Yes the first thing I did was to search for the “Auto Exec" on my computer, but I was not able to find any, then only I decide to post a request. I did a search on "*.dot" and rename all the dot to old and that took care of the word problem, but I am still getting the error when I open the Exel. Any idea what causing that?

It's probably also Acrobat - look in your Excel startup folders ..

Documents and Setings\(userid)\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel\XlStart

or

Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11\XLStart

(adjust accordingly if you have non-standard install root - or different version (Office10 for XP, Office for earlier)

Enjoy,
Tony
