Hi all

How can I compile a datbase so that it is stand alone?
Do I need to add extra tools?

For example
I want to put a database on a PC that does not have Access.

I cant find any results from my search. Maybe I am looking searching for the wrong thing. Can someone point me to a thread.

Thanks
S.

Hi!

You can't do that with (only) Access.

You can crate runtime versions using ODE (Office Developer Edition), where the user does not need an Access lisens (Msaccess.exe will be copied to the users harddrive, but will only be able to open the specified database)

Thanks Roy

What do I need?

I have VB6 + other stuff available if needed.

Hi!

If you're comfortable with programming GUI in VB6 with Access as a database, I'd probably go for that.

Else, for the runtime thingie you need to purchase the MS Office Developer Edition for your version of Access.
