I was wondering what the recommended virtual memory setting is for a server. I am assuming that the guy who set our server up left the virtual memory setting at the factory default. Currently our server's vm is set to 384 MB. We have 15 pcs on our network, most of which are running XP Pro. There are also a couple of Visual Basic programs that run throughout the day on the server.

Thanks for any help,

eli

It is best that the server doesn't use virtual memory at all (except its small default use). Monitor your system resources to see if there is any significant paging out to disk: if there is, install more memory. Changing the VM should be necessary.
