COmpaq Proliant 3092 Drive tower and Ultra 2

Hi All, I'm trying to determine if there are any technical reasons why I could not connect my Proliant 3092 SCSI drive tower to a SCSI controller on my Ultra 2. I'll need to purchase a SCSI controller for the Ultra and want to know if I'd be wasting my time trying to connect these two devices.
