compaq evo n115 laptop lcd loose video connection 1

has anybody opened up an evo 115 laptop and tightened the connection on the video card?? Is it part of the motherboard or separate. My LCD keeps going out and i am pretty sure there is a loose connnection somewhere.

Would I be able to do it fairly easy?? Any suggestions

fairly easy to access the connectors. you can find the manuals for all compaq laptops at hp.com web site their manuals are free pdf downloads and they include disassembly instructions. but i doubt its just a loose cable these connectors are very snug... probably broken wire as the cables get stressed from opening and closing the screen.

I have an EVO N600 the cable connections (2) are right under the power switch. I haven't checked where they are on the screen side.

I'm sure you can buy the parts from HP, they bought Compaq a few years ago. Part numbers are in the manual
