Compaq BIOS Issue

Morning,

I have a Compaq desktop that is bugging me when you fire it up, it hangs on the splashscreen that asks you to press F10 to enter Setup. If you wait a few seconds then press any key it boots OK. Else if you leave it it will just sit there.Im sure it is probably a BIOS setting i just cant seem to see anything, Does anyone know the answer to this annoying bug that is really getting to me now???

When the cursor is blinking on the right side of the screen, press F10 and it will take you into the bios. Then save and exit. It that doesn't correct it then you may need to replace the cmos battery. Small flat coin size battery. You can find one at a local hardware store,radio shack or just about anywhere. It will be a 3.0 volt probably a cr2032 for about $3.00 US.

If that doesn't correct it then you may have a failed piece of hardware attached to your PC that is not communicating correctly and not allowing it to POST. (Power On Self-Test).
