Company website same as AD Domain name 1

Our internal AD name is the same as our public name for our website. Is there a way to set DNS to stop resolving to the domain controllers for the website internally and have them look at the webserver/ftpserver first?

I had a similar problem and what I did was add a

http://www host

to my dns that pointed to my webserver. Since the computers go to my dns they resolve the interal

http://www.xyz.com

rather then the external one provided by an isp.

Not sure if its the same but sounds similar.

Thanksfor the help, I found that I had accidenty left the cname record just pointing to the domain name. I changed the cname record to point to the webserver and the page now resolves much faster.
