Our internal AD name is the same as our public name for our website. Is there a way to set DNS to stop resolving to the domain controllers for the website internally and have them look at the webserver/ftpserver first?

I had a similar problem and what I did was add a to my dns that pointed to my webserver. Since the computers go to my dns they resolve the interal rather then the external one provided by an isp.

Not sure if its the same but sounds similar.

Thanksfor the help, I found that I had accidenty left the cname record just pointing to the domain name. I changed the cname record to point to the webserver and the page now resolves much faster.
