Our company website is hosted outside our network, but the domain name is resolved through our DNS on the network. The website is all of a sudden not accessible from inside the network, although from the outside it's fine. We haven't seen anything wrong, or different from yesterday when it was working. Rebooting and flushing the DNS haven't worked, so I was hoping to get some insight on what the problem might be. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Im assuming that your domain name is hosted externally to your company but are you using the same domain name internally for your network?

If so check that the record to point to the external website is still there and pointing to the correct IP for the external webserver.

Also try pinging the web address internally and checking what IP if any it gives back, then do the same externally just to check.

You assumed correctly... those were also the first things we tried, but everything came up the way it should.

What happens when you do a tracert to the FQDN of the website? Does it get all the way there without trouble, after resolving to the external IP?

Are you using a proxy server/ISA of some sort that does not proxy "yourdomain.com" hosts?

Also what error do you get when you try to access the website internally? 404 page not found or some DNS error?
