Comp starts up at 7.00 h 2

I have an XP based computer and it boots up every day at 7 o'clock......automatically.

I have absolutely no clue where to look to stop that....

Any hint ?

look in bios under ???
give it a try in power management, if not there look what bios manufactor u have and check their site

Is it plugged into a phone line? I had the same issue a few years ago, it turned out that the Telco were testing lines and Wake On Ring on the modem was set, firing up the pc.

More modern, check the BIOS and see if "Wake On Lan" is set. Turn this off and see what happens. If it does stop, you then have to work out how these "magic packets" are getting there.

Yep, you both right, it was a setting in the BIOS.

No clue how it got there. I write the settings down (not enough human memory) of all my computers, but nowhere that thing is set to 'On'.
