CommVault 6.1 to 7.0

Has anyone done an upgrade yet of 6.1 to 7.0?

Curious what your experience was like.

If you did, are you only using backups? How bout file system data migrator or exchange data migrator? Also what about other non-OS iDAs like SQL, Oracle, Sharepoint etc, any issues there that you encountered?

I see that the C++ Redistributable Package will be required on all systems with CommVault Agents, what has been your experience there? Also .NET 2 is required for the desktop side with the Outlook Add-in for Exchange DM. Is anyone continuing to use an earlier version of the outlook add-in with 7.0 for the ExDM side of things, or are you pushing .NET 2 to all your desktops that might not already have it in order to use the 7.0 Add-in?

Hi

Done a couple of upgrades for clients so far and not had any problems...helps that SP1 is available.

CommServe takes the longest because the upgrade reinstalls SQL (SQL 2005 now).

Outlook Add-In isn't tied to any specific version of DataMigrator...I know someone using the latest Add-In (6.1.14 with 5.9).

As with any upgrade...make sure that you take a Full DR backup and secure the .dmp file before you start and then you can always roll back if any problems.
