Hi there,

Can someone please advise what is the difference between the Common Management Agent and the ePO agent.....very slowly. I have searched the doucmentation and nothing explains CMA.

Many thanks in advance.

McAfee ePO educational documentation states:

The ePO agent forms an optional component within the common framework agent. To help standardize product code and functionality McAfee has built a common core technologies architecture to allow different McAfee products to share the same common compnents and code. We refor the this architecture as the Common Framework or the Common Management Agent(CMA).

in full:
The Common Framework may consists of 4 things;
- Product Manager
- Task Scheduler
- Updater Subsystem
- ePO Agent (Communications)

The last one is only installed with the ePO agent it manages the communications between your client and the ePO server, the CMA as installed with your VSE only the first 3 are installed.

Hope this helps

I stand corrected but I was nearly right!
