It looks nice - fairly clean & simple (no blink tags, etc ;-))

In IE7, the left-nav doesn't appear at all - making it impossible to navigate.

The left-hand navigation 'hover' state colour might not be visible enough to some people - I think the contrast between the light green and the background colour isn't enough - so it might be worth darkening this up a bit. The same goes for other link hover colours, too (e.g. contact link, etc).

There is also no visual feedback on the nav about which section you are currently in (although there is a title on the page, most people would look to the nav for this, IMHO).

Are the "font-" and "font+" links of much use? Most users are probably aware of how to change the font size, and the links on the page only seem to go 4 steps.

For some reason, in Fx on any page with the image 'popups', when viewing the large images, if you click on the image to close the view, the image "jumps" about 10 pixels up before returning... this doesn't happen in IE 7, though.

I do like the picture in the top-right of the screen - it's quite a nice touch.

First off I'm viewing this in IE6.

My opinion is it's a very nice looking site, your layout is very smooth and easy to read and navigate.

Just a few small things I see, (IMO of course):

I see what BRPS says

For some reason, in Fx on any page with the image 'popups', when viewing the large images, if you click on the image to close the view, the image "jumps" about 10 pixels up before returning

Jumps 16 pixels on pages that have a scrollbar, your large image view doesn't have a scrollbar, so it shifts when opening and closing the image view.

I also think you may want to put a tool tip or something on the font+ font- buttons to say exactly what they do. Something as simple as "Click here to increase the font size". I'm of the opinion that some users won't actually know the functions of the buttons and will avoid them cause of that. However the idea of the buttons I think is a great idea, considering many elderly people will visit your site, this just gives them a "hotkey".

One more small thing, when you resize the window too small, the fluid layout starts looking funky. Not sure if this matters at all, but just threw it up there.

I'm not posting to act like I'm the "master" of all web pages, just giving some feedback

I want to get rid of the font buttons.
They were there to demonstrate something and the client liked them as they were :-/

I can live with the jumping with the fx but the nav is another matter. Odd.

I need to redo the fluid layout I think. It was fixed and got cobbled into a fluid layout late in the day.

Nice. agenda is misspelled on the Inspections page, but I like the overall feel.

I think I've fixed the nav display problem albeit with a conditional comment.

It should suffice until I can redo the page layout CSS.

Would you mind checking it again.

In IE7 the nav column moves left and right with changes of browser width. With a narrow browser window the left edge of the nav column moves off the page. With a wide window (> ~1000px) the column moves in from the edge of the browser and obscures the main text

I think the font buttons have value for this site's target audience - if I wanted to send my aged parent to this home, I might want to bump the text size up a bit for him or her to be able to read it.

I'm not sure that "font" is the right label for the button though. Does that mean much to Joe Public? I'd have thought "text size" or even just "text" or "size" would be more obvious to the non-techie.

Other than that, it's pretty slick. I like the colour scheme, are they Leicester Tigers fans by any chance?

John, thanks for the heads up on that menu. I really need to get some time to fix this, it's a pretty major problem!

Chris, yes the font label is wrong. I think I'll implement something along the lines of a series of letter 'A' characters increasing in size. Or perhaps just Text size larger/smaller.

I wouldn't have thought they were Tigers fans. I chose the colours anyway They just seemed right.

Foamcow - like the site very much. Without spending a lot of time on it there were a few typos that jumped out.

On the left nav:
Accomodation - should be Accommodation (I think)
Managers Overview - should be Manager's Overview

The Staff Profile (at the bottom) reads: Millie is a General Nurse and has been the Registered Manager of Woodstock since it's opening in 1986." - it's should be its.

Fund/Paying - reads "There are a number of benefits that can be clained, to enable people to pay the fees." - clained should be claimed.

That's odd.
It seems to be working ok.
Must have been a hiccup with the DB server.
I will turn off the error messages so if it happens again at least no error will be displayed.
