command to get serial numbers?

is there a command or mib oid to get a switch chassis serial number and card serial numbers? any ideas or scripts or anything would be great.

ideally i would like something for all cisco devices, but mainly for a cat 6500.

Well... a "show module" will give you the serial numbers of all the modules (cards). Not sure of a command to get the chassis serial number.

sh mod" will get you all of the info. "Show ver" will the info on some of the switch models,i.e. The 3550XL.
