HI all,
We have a cisco 1700 router. Our client are getting is DHCP IP address from the cisco router. However, there lease duration only for 1 hour. I'm not sure is that by desgin or not. But they compalint that within a day, they will get kick out of our email server, database server 10 times a day. When they rebooted the computer or do a ipconfig/renew, they will get back into the network fine.

Thus, I was wondering for those Cisco Router expert, do you know what the command or article how to make the lease duration for DHCP clients longer. I know how to do this in Window 2000 server DHCP server setting, but not sure how it works with CIsco router.

I appreciate your advice in advance.
Thank You

Love always,

Yes, you can change it to 8 days. Just put the command "lease 8" under the dhcp-config.
