command prompt

When I try to use the command prompt, it starts as
C:\ documents and settings\kelly>
and there seems to be no way I can change directory. Any one have clue as to what is wrong? Kelly

bcastner:The Path looks the same. the file is 367 kb.the date stamp is the same exept time is 8.00 AM.
Taskmanager and regedit run ok. Kelly .Also no user restrictions.

I would do a sfc /scannow

Interesting issue/problem. I suspect a problem with cmd.exe itself, as if there was a policy restriction on cmd.exe you would not be able to Start, Run the thing.

wildwilly - did you ever try the command prompt here powertoy (I'd be interested to know if it still starts in C:\ documents and settings\kelly> whereever you invoked it)

I now have CmdHere by PowerToy and it works werever I start it.
I did a sfc /scannow, nothing changed.

When you say it works, you mean you can CD wherever you want I hope.
