Hi,

How to enable default code page 1252 in Command Prompt every time Command Prompt starts.

Now I have to open Command Prompt and code page is 850. I have to execute command: chcp 1252 to change code pages. What I need to do, that every time Command Prompt is opened the new code page is set.

Thanks,
Grofaty

In XP It's

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\NIs\Codepage

Change OEMCP to whatever codepage you want.

It will most likely be the same or VERY similar in 2000.

Hi Albion,

Thanks for reply. I aslo tested this settings in WinXP and does not work for me.

1. I opened regedit and changed the parameter.
2. Start | Run | cmd
3. chcp gives the code page 850 instread of 1252.

Any idea?

Thanks,
Grofaty

Hi,

Thanks a lot. It works for me. I had to restart Windows to apply the settings.

No help is needed.

Thanks,
Grofaty
