Hi,
am new to mySql but am trying... have installed ver 4.0
and have admin running ok, have even got an asp site to connect to a mysql DB (locally).
but,
i am trying to edit the data in the DB tables easily for learnng purposes.
I understand that this is done from the command line
but every example i have tried comes back invalid syntax?
ne tips or advice-am using winXP

Your posting is not very clear
how are you trying to edit records, from command line or from ASP?

ok have tried this command from dos prompt
echo show databases; | mysql

but i get the error
'mysql is not a recognised as a internal or external command, operable program or bat file '
 
sorry... didnt know had to type mysql
to get mysql> prompt
e/thing working fine
