Command button will not press/work

Hello again, this has me very confused and I am hoping its simple fix.

I have placed on one of my sheets command buttons using the VBA Control Toolbox. I wrote the code for the buttons and and even tested them, each worked perfectly just as they should. I saved and closed the workbook and then reopened it this morning and now the buttons don't work? I click on them and they don't even show a clicking motion. They look like part of the sheet, when I right click and choose properties I get the worksheet properties.

Any help would be great.

You need to CLOSE the Control Toolbox Editor -- the little Design Mode icon (triangle & pencil)

Thanks Skip for both answers. This one and other. I edited the buttons not adding anything just edited. Then saved and reopen and that seemed to fix it. Not sure why. Also making sure now to close The Toolbox as well. Thanks again.
