I was recently told that you must have a combo card for clocking purposes on an MICS with a PRI. Any truth to that?
Thanks in advance.

maybe, you need the clock source either the combo card or a services cartridge since you only have room for 2 cartridges if you already have the 2 or 6 port fiber cards in place then adding a service cartridge makes more sense than buying the combo, if you need to have 2 6 port fiber cards in place or need to upgrade to a 6 port fiber cartridge then getting the combo makes more sense.

You defintely do. Like jerryreeve said, either a combo card or services card will do the trick.

Unless you can get the Telco to do the clocking for you on their end and then you can turn clocking services off on your end....AT&T, Verizon have the ability to do this as well a lot of the time on PRI's

You must have the combo or services card so the switch can receive clock and internally time to it to maintain synchronization.
There is no clock circuitry on the DTI.

True. Even if the CO is providing clock, you still need hardware to synch with it. You'll need one or the other.
