Combo Box Mystery EXCEL?

I inherited an Excel document that uses a combo box to populate a field. I want to make changes to the list and default values of this lookup, BUT I cannot access the properties or any thing. The only thing I can do is populate the cell. Does ANYONE know what is going on here? I can see the list of values in another section of the spreadsheet and can change the values that are there but cannot expand the list. I have gone to the point of removing all other modules and macros as well as all other fields and columns except the one with the lookup and the one with the look up values. I cannot change it. PLEASE HELP.

Is it a Control Toolbox Combobox, a Forms Combobox or Data/Validation using a List?

I think that ComboBoxes in Excel are populated with a Macro. Edit the Macro.

It appears to be a forms combo box and there are no macros or vba code attached to this or any peice of the form at this point. I made a copy of the original and deleted EVERYTHING except the cell where this combo is and teh list that it is pulling from. I even deleted all the columns in between and the combo maintained it's reference just fine. I just don't know where or how to get to the properties or the controls any way. I have tried right clicking with evry combination I could think of of ctrl, Alt, shift, it does not work. I have tried putting the sheet in edit (design mode) still no access to the combo. Now I just want to figure out what it i. I'M SO CONFUSED!!! not to mention FRUSTRATED!!

OH I'm so excited I found it. It was set up as a drop down via the <data> <validation> menu option. Wow! was that ridiculous to find. I did not know it could be done that way.
