I have a two page letter on first and second letterhead sheets and need to combine the two documents into one to attach to an email. Anyone know how to accomplish that?

Hi samilees,

If you set a document up to have a 'different first page' via File|Page Setup|Layout, you can have a different letterhead on the 1st page from that used on the 2nd and subsequent pages. It should then be a simple matter of using Copy & Paste to create a single document with both pages.

Maybe I did not explain this enough. I have a first page template that use for letters and when the letter extends to a second page, I have a second page template. Now I want to be able to combine them into one file to send as an email attachment

No, you did not explain it enough. And you still have not. Are you saying you have TWO template (.DOT) files you are using? Are you saying you create TWO separate files?

This is not the way to go.

macropod is correct in his suggestion. Have one template with different headers. One for the first page, and one for the second page. Then use the one template. If the document goes into a second page, the second page has the second page header.

Open your first page.
On the Tools menu, click Compare and Merge Documents.
Select the document that you want to compare to the copy that is currently open.
Click the arrow next to Merge, and then do one of the following:
To display the results of the comparison in the selected document, click Merge.

To display the results in the document that is currently open, click Merge into current document.
To display the results in a new document, click Merge into new document.
Notes

To ensure the best possible merge results, make sure that the Store random number to improve merge accuracy check box is selected on the Security tab of the Options dialog box (click Options on the Tools menu).

Thanks, fumei, that did the trick, and it looks great! Appreciate the help.
