hello,

I have a table that includes part numbers from several different companies. Because of this, there are duplicate entries for some of the part numbers.

I would like to combine the records and sum the quantity field where the partnum, manfufacturer, and location fields are identical.

Any help would be appreciated. I am working with MS Access 97

Thank you,

Charlie

Use a "totals" query. In the design grid of the query, select partnum, manufacturer, location, and quantity fields. Turn on the totals (Thats the 'Sigma' button on the toolbar) and make sure partnum, manufacturer, and location have "Group by" selected and quantity has "SUM" selected.
