Hi,
COMAL?
Great language. Unfortunately, overpriced and improperly marketed.
As for programs, I wrote a lot them at one time (prehistoric days) for the Commodore 64, and published them in Computer Shopper as the COMAL Corner.
Later expanded the material from the columns and sold it in book form as the "COMAL COLLAGE."
I doubt that the text is still published anywhere, as it was published in 1987 for COMAL version 2.0. However, I do have my original copy. The programs are essentially presented in individual chapters, and are kind of a tutorial for going from simple usage to more advanced functions.

Oh, by the way, if you are at all allergic to turtles, this may not be of interest to you. With us, throughout the book, is Calvin the COMAL Turtle. At our command he performs various stunts. Eh, sometimes. Rather slow at it though.
