Hi,

I have about ten different images with the exact same background color (exact same hexidecimal value) on a page with the same background color, but two of the image backgrounds don't blend when tested in Internet Explorer, but they all look fine in Netscape. Can this be fixed? (It is not an option for me to make these images into GIF's.)

I think you should save the pictures with a higher quality-setting :if you're using Adobe Photoshop:
File >> Save for web >> Settings:JPEG HIGH.
Now the images will blend into the background. This can off course only be done if you still have the original PSD-files or the origanal picture with a higher quality-setting.

Thanks for the input. The quality of the jpg's was high. What I did is make a tile with the same optimization as the background of the jpg's and used that tile for the background and they all blended perfectly.

Another thing you can do is

ctrl+J (modify page properties)

select the background color and with the color picker(eye dropper) pick the color you want on the image itself.

That's it....you just saved time. ;-)

Have Fun...
