Color Logo (Raster) on B&W printer

As mentioned in thread286-1212086, I, too, am able to print a PCL color logo successfully on a color laserjet (Brother MFC9120NC), but on an B/W laserjet (HP laserjet 2100), I get a rectangular black box.

My question is instead of resorting to creating 2 PCL files - one for color printer and another for b/w printer -for the same graphic, is there a way to make it work just with one?

A color PCL file will NOT print properly on a BW laser.

A BW/Grayscale PCL file WILL print properly on either a color or BW laser printer. This is in a PCL5 context.
