Color laser printer recommendations?

I am looking for a color laser printer to replace the old and tired Xerox NC60 we own. We usually buy HP because they are relatively problem free, but they don't have much in that space. Does anyone have any experience with other current models? I hear a lot about the Techtronics printers (now owned by Xerox), but I am not a big Xerox fan (our current printer is a bit of a piece of junk). Comments?

Thanks.

Unfortunatley the best I have come across is HP. From experiance, stay clear of QMS / Minolta printers. Even though these are one of the cheapest, and are trying to get end users to part exchange their mono HP LaserJets with their own Colour LaserJet!

I would personally go with the LJ4500 series printer. I have used them in the past on numerous occasions and never had problems with them. They are reliable, have good print quality and print relatively fast.

Hope this helps you out.

Thanks for the help. I am still researching the Xerox Tektronix Phaser series. The wax printers seem to be quite good. I am looking at the 860, but it is being replaced by the 8200 (?) with the same print engine but a faster processor. They are quite cheap (~$3500-3800 CDN with a 10/100 print server), and fast (16 ppm - they are single pass, whereas most of them at that speed are 4 pass). There is basically only one consumable besides the ink sticks (about $42 CDN ea.), and it is about $200 CDN. I had a tech here yesterday fixing the old Xerox NC60 (not a Xerox guy, by the way) and he said the Phasers seem to run forever. The one I saw demo'd would spit out a high quality photo on legal size (from memory) in less than 20 seconds. The one drawback that was mentioned is that because of the way it feeds (there is no fuser, drum etc.), it needs about .2" margin on the sides and 1" on the top and bottom (for legal size).

Does anyone have any feedback on specifically on the Tektronix Phasers?

Thanks again for the input on the HPs - I still haven't ruled out the 4550. The monochrome printers are definitely bulletproof.
