Please advice!

i am learning to use the illustrator and i would always be learning!! anyway, i've been putting together an artwork using illustrator 9 from an artwork created in quark...so far the colors and type of font on text remain the same as the orginal in quark (have to convert from quark to illustrator document cos print shops in my country are more familiar with illustrator stuffs)...
but i've had the problem when the print shop gave me a proof and the body of text didnot appear in the same color as on screen..i was told that it might be coz the "over-print" button has been activated...but i've checked that and it wasn't so...
what else can it be? please advice all you experts out there!!

thanks so much : )

If your using Illustrator pantone colors with Quark 5 pantone colors there will be a shift, look at the illustrator color you see CVC but quark is CV.
Your printer should remap the two colors.
If the pantone colors are printing in 4C and your using the pantone color lookup table in quark then do not change the model to CMYK keep it pantone and just uncheck spot colors.
Its to much of a color shift and will not match the illustrator file.
hope this helps you.
