coldfusion email

hi! firstly i am quite new to coldfusion. i need to build an email application (something similar to yahoo mail and hotmail with all the standard inbox, outbox, compose etc.) for my company using coldfusion. is this possible? how do i go about this? or is there any coldfusion email application on the market for sale? appreciate any replies.

It's possible. I'm not sure how to set up the user accounts through CF, but you can read the accounts with CFPOP and output them to a CF page, and send mail using CFMAIL...

What is it with CFPOP? There just aren't that many resources out there on the subject. Is it because people are building their own proprietary CF e-mail systems and they don't want to share, or is CFPOP so useless that most developers wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole? I've tried to flesh out the Allaire example e-mail app into something functional, and whenever I run into a problem, I can never find answers. Very frustrating.
