Cold Fusion Hangs

We have a couple of issues where the Cold Fusion service hangs. Issue #1 occurs when a CFMAIL tag is in a loop to send 200+ mail messages. This activity bogs the system down severely so that .CFM pages with no database connectivity take nearly 3 minutes to complete. Isssue #2 occurs more randomly... when CFusion server still hangs, but an out of memory exception occurs. We have CFUSIONMX7, dual core Xeon processor, 4GB Mem Win2003 Server.
Heap Size is 1024M.
Permmanent memor switch set to 128m.

I don't know if you're still having problems with mail, but...

We had similar problems years ago using asp classic, IIS, and Domino. What we did was sent emails out in batches of 100 and the systems were able to keep up with the demand.

Unfortunately, I don't have access to the code we used. Hopefully this might give you an idea about how to handle the mail.
