I normally use this view when working in UD...however, ud locked up on me yesterday and now the code & design view button doesn't seem to work...its stays code view only? Anyone else had this happen? THanks, Michelle

Sounds none to good to me. Do you have the 4.01 update installed on your machine? The update release was issued about 6 months or so ago. What were you doing when it crashed? The reason for asking is I occasionally have the annoying "An error occured with UD, the program will close and you will swear very loudly" message.
Also, FYI, if I am running WinAmp at the same time I lose the ability to create RS connections at all!

May not help you very much I'm afraid but at least you're not alone!

I can't recall what I was doing..it seems to lock on me often anymore...Where can I see the exact version number...all I can find in "normal" place is their splash screen one and it says 4, but no place for a revision to be listed... Anyway, I'm also fighting another issue... I create a page..all a lovely table...I put in the % of the whole for each column...work on it some more and it seems that the %info is either gone or shifted around...how can I get it to lock the size down when everything matches up perfectly and not change? I do want screen to be flexible for end user so I thought that is why you used % instead of pixels...clearly, I'm new at this...seen your name out here alot and thought maybe you'd be perfect one to ask...or anyone else who is willing to help a somewhat annoyed newbie such as myself! Thanks!

My name is around because I'm a nosy so & so!!

Does your column reside within a higher table? If so then the dimensions of the uppermost table (ie the one nearest the left of your status bar) will dictate the actual overall dimensions of the appearance. Let's say you have a single table that has 1 row and 3 columns. If you said that you wanted the first column to be 15% then the other dynamically make up the equal (almost) amount of % that's remaining. So if you 'force' a column to be 20%, then make sure you also go along the table and equally 'force' the remaining columns (ie 40% and 40%). This works for me and took a long time to work out!!

The issue of crashing may be helped if you took yourself over to the macromedia ultradev site and download the free update (4.01) that's available. Or drop me a note and I'll help you out.

Have fun! (I know I did!)
