we have installed several G430 and G450 systems and most have had a problem with hum on the co lines comming into the M711 cards. is this a know issue or are we getting a lot of bad M711 cards? If you have had this issue how di you resolve?

I have never had your issue. Are you grounding the G430's to an earth ground? Have you checked the CO lines with a butt set, any humm with that? and finally, I can't resist:

Maybe they don't know the words :)

yes we are grounding and with a butt there is no hum or noise on some. and yes I don't know the words so I hum.

All I can suggest to you, is that you load the most recent firmware for CM5 (30.10.4), and make sure your MM711H30 cards are running FW093 as well, if you still are having issues, you need to open a case with AVAYA. We have installed several (at least 10 to 15) G430/G450's, with MM711's, and have not had any issues with humm on POTS lines.

I seem to be having the same issue. G430 is grounded, gateway is on firmware 30.10.4. MM711HW27 is at FW073.

What do you think?

try removing the ground and making a test call. This is not a fix but should rule out a grounding problem.
