Hi, I am working with QuarkXpress 5.0 on a PC, and am currently having trouble with CMYK tiffs. I save them in Photoshop, and they look perfectly fine in any other program (Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design, etc), but when I import them into Quark, they are extremely saturated and very pinkish. And they print that way too. I have tried messing around with Color Management, but with no success. I have a non-postscript printer, but everything else prints fine on it, and RGB versions of the tiffs look fine on the screen and in print, but naturally, I need the CMYK version to work. I have been saving my images as EPS (since they look alright on screen) and importing them into Quark, but it is a real pain because I then have to save the entire Quark page as an EPS and import it into Illustrator so that it will print properly from my printer.
Does anyone know how to fix the CMYK tiff color issue in QuarkXpress 5.0? Any help would be appreciated, as I am getting extremely frustrated. Thank you in advance!

Do your proofs from your service bureau come back looking the way they should? I would guess that this is a software problem or rather an incorrect setting in color calibration. Are you using EFI software? make sure you are using the right profile for your monitor, and your printer software is probably set to match the display.

Hello, I had the same problem a while back and found out it's not a problem at all. Quark is simply reducing the resolution of your pictures to save virtual memory, What you need to do is Export your layout as a pdf and see if the pictures look good there. As far as i know quark isnt built to be printed directly from, It's main purpose is to set up your layouts. Hope this helps you figure everything out.
