Years ago, I read or was told, probably in CMS training, that CMS has x number of reports already "built in" for the customer to run, almost making "custom reports" unnecessary. Did I expand enough?
There are 98 canned reports available in CMS r13: 42 Real-Time Reports, 49 Historical Reports, and 7 Intergrated Reports. In addtion, there are 7 Exception reports. I disagree, however, with the statement that Custom Reports are "almost unnecessary". For example, none of the canned reports give you RONA (Redirect On No Answer) information. And if you use expanded AUX reason code, the canned reports will give you the detail for AUX reason codes 0 - 9, but codes 10 - 99 are summed together.
At my company, we now have 14 custom Real-Time Reports, 3 custom Intergrated Reports, and 214 custom Historical Reports.
