Hi,

Im currently running CMS version 13 connected to a G3r running CM1.

I have just noticed on the system features page that the CMS adjunct version is : R3v8.

Does this affect the operation of the CMS.. am I losing any features? I've had a look in the cmssvc menu and I can change it to a newer version but will this impact on the existing database or statistics?

You can make the change, but you have to take the CMS down, so it's service affecting.

Log in as 'root'. Type 'cmssvc' and select the option 4 (run_cms). Select option 2 (turn off CMS but leave IDS running). Wait for the application to stop. Type 'cmssvc' again and choose option 8 (swsetup). The 2nd item is switch version. Choose CM1.

You cannot go back. Once you change the switch version in the CMS the only ones that can take you back to a previous release is Avaya ($$).

Step through the rest of the entries. When you get to the end it will ask you to confirm your entries. Enter 'y'. Type 'cmssvc' again and choose option 4 (run_cms). Select option 1 (Turn on CMS).

On the PBX side, log in as a super-user. Do 'busy mis'. Then go and make the change to the systems features form. 'release mis'. The CMS link should restore after a few minutes.

Don't make a change until you know 100% what you're doing and have a tangible benefit for doing it. CMS went down "because it looked funny to me" isn't going to fly with your boss.

Chances are it is set that way for a reason. Do a "disp sys cust" and look at around page 6 to find your call center release at the top of the page. You may have a R11 PBX running R8 call center which is why your CMS would be set to R8.

Nice one thanks guys!

I take your point lopes.... if it isn't broke don't fix it.

Thanks again
