Hi all,

I'm just trying to add a new user on our Sun box. I've added the user using the 'useradd' command (with -g and -s commands to make them the same as other already configured users), however when I log onto CMS manually with this new user I can see that it say's I'm not a 'valid CMS user'..

Is there somewhere else I need to register the user to get it to work?

Thanks heaps in advance..

You can only add a new CMS user via CMS supervisor or via the CMS text based menus. User permissions -- user data

"Been there, done that and got the teeshirt

You're trying to add a user to Unix. CMS is an application that runs on the OS.

You need to add users to CMS and to do that you must use the menus either in terminal view or thru CMS Supervisor as multibus2 stated.
