I replaced the motherboard in my computer and I am having problems getting it to work. I decided to put this board in a different computer, after switching it to the new case the video would not work, so I assumed that something must have happened to it in the transfer. I purchased another one, and now when I am getting it set up I am getting an error message.

CMOS setting wrong
Keyboard Error
CMOS Memory Size Wrong

I changed the jumpers to clear the CMOS, replaced the battery. The model is K7S5A.

Please help!

Are you sure you reset the right jumper? "Keyboard error" is either bad keyboard (try different one), or bad keyboard chip on the mobo. How old is this motherboard? What version? The plain K7S5A was manufactured in 2001!

I'm having the same problem with the same model motherboard. Using a USB keyboard gets me past the error, but then the keyboard doesn't work. Every once in a while I can get into the BIOS setup but Enter does not work and only certain letters and/or function keys. During my search I found that a possible solution is to go into Standard CMOS Setup and tell it Not Installed for keyboard, but I can't get there. Maybe that'll help you, though ncleo.

I guess I don't understand, you were able to get past the keyboard error to get to the CMOS? I was not able to get any keyboard to work at all. Although the usb keyboard I tried has had a history of screwing us occasionally. I will try a different usb keyboard and see if that will work. If I can get it to work, just go in to the CMOS and tell it that the keyboard is not installed?

Are you also having the same problem with the memory size wrong as well?

I purchased this board as a replacement for the one I had, it is a used board, so I am just hoping I didn't get a bad board.

CMOS setting wrong
Keyboard Error
CMOS Memory Size Wrong

Exact same error message. From here:

It said:
"There is a timing problem with the keyboard. Set the Keyboard option in Standard CMOS Setup to Not Installed to skip the keyboard POST routines."

I also found something saying the set the BIOS to "Halt on all but keyboard"

And, yes, using a usb keyboard, I was able to hit F1 to go to setup when the other two errors occurred, but it didn't help much because after that only the down arrow, F1 and F5 work...no Enter or anything else, so I can't actually change anything.
