I am pretty sure I've done this on NT 4 or 2000 before, but how does one run a Command Prompt program "in the background"? I can "start mybat.cmd" to place the script in a new command window, then minimize that, but I want it entirely invisible.

This is easy on Unix systems, but I forget how on NT/2000/XP.

Thanks,

Nathan

Tsuji's code (copied below) worked exactly as needed for my purposes. Thanks for the pointer. Did you know you can use the keyword for a thread like: thread616-839332 to create an automated link? You will find these linkable keywords for FAQ's, Threads and Forums.

Code:
filespec="d:\123\abc.bat"   '< edit the location & name
createobject("wscript.shell").run chr(34) & filespec & chr(34), 0, false

Yes, I do know that. But if you store the thread reference it includes the full URL. Additionally, I reference threads from this Forum on other forums, and the shorthand reference would obviously not resolve in that instance.

Best,
Bill Castner
