Check page 2 of the codec and make sure you sync sources are correctly setup.

make sure that on page 2 of your codec set is set to use t.38-standard for fax option

disclaimer:
know nothing about the aura. working with a Avaya tech. I am at CO where we provide two NI-2 PRIs over separate transports (one SONET, one copper).

trouble:
fax and credit-card calls originate from analog lines behind the aura. calls are answered at far end then ultimately dropped without any data having passed between end points. q931 and ISUP pieces appear fine, voice works fine. am told the aura is rls 6.2 e/w g450s. Wanting to verify this box is set up correctly to handle-pass fax / modem.

questions:
1) tech has provided "LIST TRACE" which includes the following. am concerned that am seeing anything related to g729 here when this is a ccard, ie, data (modem) and fax calls.
2) the tech says the aura 'Server Codecs" as found in 'display ip-codec-set' are:
1: g729a,
2: g711mu,
3: g711a.
have plenty of pipe/bandwidth, why bother w g729a that could affect fax/modem? techs says this is the setting for every gateway.
also this is a North America site, why include g711a at all?
are these ordered by priority or simply capabilities? if these are capabilities what determines that g729a takes priority over the others listed?
3) the tech says the "Fax settings" are FAX: t.38-standard,,, Modem: off,,, TDD/TTY: US,,, and Clear-channel: n.
should I see t.38 in the LIST TRACE (or what does "fax:Relay" mean in the LIST TRACE)?
should not modem be set to 'on' for any credit card dial up verifications?
the PRIs I provide are clear channel, should not this setting be 'y'?
4) are there any other available tools that should be used in trouble shooting this issue?
