Clustered switches

We are having a problem with network performance and I want to rule out our switch cluster - wondered if anyone has any experience of this.

We have 6 2950 switches in a cluster. 5 are connected via gig fibre to a backbone switch. The 6th is in another site and is connected via a LAN extension. The network performs as expected until we drop the Lan extension to work the other site as a standalone network. This site then operates at very slow speeds. I am not sure if this is because of the cluster - that it is no longer connected to. I did not set the cluster up and have not had much dealings with switch clusters. Could this be the cause of poor performance?

hmm try to be more specific when talking about slowness in your system/network.

1) What kinds of application did you use when you experience slowness? And what were you doing with the applications when you experience slowness?

2) When did you experience slowness? Morning? Lunch hours?

3) How long did this slowness last for?

4) Is everyone having the same slowness experience or just a few of them? Is the slowness pattern consistent among all users?

5) What is the network infrastructure of the site before and after it's being "isolated" and becomes a "standalone" network?
