I'm new to routing and am hoping someone can help. This is not a real world example. I have two sites connected via MPLS using Cisco routers. I have one Vlan at each location and all routing is fine up to this point. Here's my question. If I want to add another vlan to both locations on two new subnets do I just need to configure the routers and that's it, or do I need to contact my service provider as well and let them know about my new subnets so they can configure something at their end ?
Will this apply to all WAN types ?

you will need to add vlan to the switch that is running as a vtp server, that switch will propogate any new vlan(s) to other switches. once you setup vlan(s), you will need to setup sub. interface on the router to route that vlan(s). You don't need to contact your isp, you need to create a new subnet within your own network.

I have MPLS from VBZ, when I add a subnet to my network, I have to contact VBZ to route that new subnet to me. This is becuase I am using static routing. So it will be yes if you are using static routing.

I'm not sure if you need to contact your provider if you are using a routing protocol, most likely not.
